Eugenia Melaine Neff Mordue was born in Bradenton, Florida, on April 20, 1946 to the late Vera and Arthur Neff, passed away on March 20, 2017.
She graduated from South East High School in Bradenton, and she attended and graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. degree in Special Education.
Upon graduation from college, Eugenia taught school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and while there she met and married John Michael Mordue.
She lived in North Wilksboro and in Whitehead, North Carolina, before moving back to Sarasota, Florida.
Eugenia kept in touch with her family and attended every family gathering that she could. She was known as an especially generous person with a special empathy for the homeless.
Eugenia leaves behind her older sisters Vera Jo (Dick) Blanding of Bradenton and Patricia Miller of Monticello, Florida. She is also survived by a younger brother Michael (Becky) Neff of Sparta, North Carolina, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Eugenia’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Elwood Park Baptist Church, 3516 46th Street East, Bradenton, Florida 34208.
