Doris Katherine Martin

Doris “Katherine” Martin, 91, of Bradenton, born December 4th, 1926, was released into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, June 10th, 2018.

She was born and raised in Lakeland, FL. where she met her husband of 59 years. She ministered alongside her husband as a Pastor’s Wife and also made a career in banking where she rose to an executive position at 1st Security Bank here in Bradenton. She also worked in banks in Dade City, Fl. and Birmingham, Al.

She was very loving, full of wisdom, and Christian character.

Katherine is predeceased by her husband Dr. William S. Martin.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Mike) Blackrick of Bradenton, sons William Daniel (Elaine) Martin of Lawrenceville, GA, Bruce Lee (Tracy) Martin of Knoxville, TN, and Mark Shannon (Jennifer) Martin of Maryville, TN. Her legacy lives on with her fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 14th at West Bradenton Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with service following at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery on Friday, June 15th at 1:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Tidewell Hospice or West Bradenton Baptist Church Capital Building Fund
