Donald W. Kortzendorf, 81, Palmetto, passed away Feb. 22, 2018. He was born April 5, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late George and Bertha (Scheurer) Kortzendorf.
After serving in the U.S. Army and then working many years as a machinist he relocated to Bradenton, FL in 1979 to start his own tractor service business. Donald then worked and retired from the Manatee County Sheriff Office.
Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary, his cherished daughter, Melissa Roux and 3 siblings. He is survived by 4 sons; Alan of Brownsburg, IN, Kevin of Indianapolis, IN, Dennis of Myakka City and Gary (Heather) of Bradenton, daughter Linda (David) Barth of Sarasota, son-in-law, Rick Roux of Bradenton, 2 siblings, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2704 33rd Ave W, Bradenton.
A viewing will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Shannon Funeral Home 5610 Manatee Ave. W. Bradenton.
Burial will be 10:00 AM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota.
A reception will be held at the FOP Lodge 70, 1825 11th St. W., Bradenton for 11:30-2:00.
Additional services will be held at a later date in Indianapolis.
