Dianne F. Charlton

July 12, 1958 — December 22, 2018

Dianne F. Charlton, age 60, passed peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Florida Hospital Tampa after a three-month battle with gallbladder cancer.

Dianne was born July 12, 1958, in Cass City, Michigan to Keith R. and Joann (Brown) Charlton. She was a 1976 graduate of Manatee High School and received her bachelor's degree in 1980 from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She married her high school sweetheart Joseph A. DesRosier on May 9, 1980 in the garden of her maternal grandparents Ernest and Evelyn (Shaw) Brown. Her love for teaching led her to earning her Masters degree in Education from Nova University and becoming a school teacher in Manatee County. Her caring and fun personality, along with a whisper discipline and passion for science helped to inspire hundreds of elementary and middle school students at Palm View Elementary, Ballard Elementary and Palmetto Charter School. For those that came to know her, she will be treasured in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

Dianne was preceded in death by her father, Keith, and brother, Marco. Leaving behind her husband, Joe; children, Joey, Emily, Rachel, Josh; grandchild, Sofia; mother, Joanne; sisters, Amy, Kenni Sue; and brother, David.

Family, friends and all others whose lives Dianne touched are invited to Shannon’s Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street W., Bradenton, FL 34205, from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, January 10, 2018, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and of course, just chat and laugh.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local school for classroom materials and supplies. Special thanks to the staff at Florida Hospital Tampa for their sincere compassionate care over the last three months.
