Diane L. Stewart, 72, Bradenton, passed away February 12, 2016.
She was born on August 31, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to Lawrence and Ethel Zimmerman.
Diane received a Master’s Degree from Nova University. She moved to Bradenton in 1970 coming from Bloomington, Indiana. Locally she taught with the Manatee County School Board as a Speech Pathologist with Wakeland and Rowlett Elementary Schools.
Diane was predeceased by her father, and is survived by her loving husband Larry Stewart of Bradenton, five sons; James (Kelly) Jordan of Bradenton, Gary (Kathy) Stewart of Warsaw, KY, Greg Stewart, Mark (Catherine) Stewart, Lynn (Deborah) Stewart all from Bradenton, two daughters; Joanne (Eddie) Ranft of Myakka City, Jennifer (Chester) Filanowski of Palmetto, brother, David (LeAnn) Zimmerman of Elkhart Lake, WI, two sisters, Erdine Simic of Bloomington, IN, Jane (Lynn) Kusy of Gilbert, AZ, twenty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016 with a celebration of Diane’s life to follow at 4 P.M. at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue W., Bradenton.
The family requests that memorials be made to TideWell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL. 34238 in her memory.
