Dennis Gene Denton
September 19, 1954 — February 27, 2021
On February 27, 2021. God received another angel to his kingdom. My beautiful Dennis was finally healed!
I will write minimal stats as those who knew and loved him know the facts. I will start with my life with him.
He moved in next door to me, and after coming out of a terrible relationship I wanted nothing to do with anyone. A friend stopped by and even after some time being in the cabin next door I tried not to notice him but we shared a garage. Anyway, back to this friend, I was forced to introduce them, and he removed his aviator sunglasses and she said afterwards, “DID YOU SEE HIS EYES!!!??? It was after that, that I did notice and was head over heels for him.
Our life together was always exciting, to the point of adrenaline rushes way too often! He warned me before marriage that “life is 90% boring and it’s the 10% that makes it worth living.” I think many times we had a ratio of about 70/30!!
I so miss those beautiful blue eyes and the man and heart behind them. He loved so much our children, grandchildren and friends. Of course, he was a child at heart :) You all know who you are as you filled his life with joy, so I will not name each of you. But know how proud he was of his beautiful family.
Dennis you are my Star!!!!
Dennis’ best friend was with him his last day and I asked him to write something about his “brother” and these are his words:
Dennis Denton is a devoted Grandpa, husband and friend. An outdoorsman and adventurer, he served in Vietnam, panned gold in Alaska, California and Arizona. He was a hunter and a trapper. Dennis and I have stood in places no man has touched. Without fail he was and is the most loyal friend I’ve ever known. I’ve seen my friend waist deep in a frozen river but laughing like a kid. Wild to the end, it seems like he was born in the wrong century. The Almighty in Heaven has probably had to ask him to get out of the Jordan River and honor the “no fishin” signs, as he hasn’t been there long enough to get his residency yet. We will see you again my friend, but not yet. Keep your nose in the wind and your eyes on the skyline.
Your friend,
Jim Williams (Willy)
