David Edward Werman, 75, of Howell, Michigan and Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
David was born on April 16, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio to Erwin and Ellen (Duetemeyer) Werman. He grew up in Dearborn, Michigan and attended Lutheran High West in Detroit where he met his wife Linda. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, Dave and Linda got married on October 2, 1971 at Covenant Lutheran Church in Detroit.
Dave had a long and successful career in managerial roles at Kmart and later Target. After thirty years in retail, he retired into a new role as a financial advisor for ten years. In every role, Dave deeply valued the relationships that were formed. He was admired for his integrity, dedication, and leadership.
Music, especially percussion, always played an important role in Dave’s life. Dave also had a passion for golf. He enjoyed everything about the game between watching the pros and perfecting his skills on the course. Dave and Linda loved traveling and shared many memorable vacations with family and friends over the years. He especially treasured the time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Above all, Dave's faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation for his life. He continued to point others to the hope he found in Christ in everything he did. He cherished the time spent with the Beach Brothers 4 Christ studying God’s word and living life in God’s grace together. His greatest desire would be for all to know the love of Christ.
David is survived by his beloved wife Linda (Krueger) of 53 years, three children, Jodi (James) Tucker, John Werman and partner Joy Black and son Asher, and Chris (Allison) Werman, 9 grandchildren, Ayla, Aiden, Amelie, Josiah, Seth, Macy, Lydia, Clark, and Everly, his siblings Judith (David) Christian and Daniel (Kathleen) Werman, and blessed by many wonderful nieces and nephews.
