It is with great sadness to announce the death of David G. Bishop, Jr. (54), of Bradenton. David passed away on February 5, 2025, at Blake Hospital. He was born in Titusville, Florida on June 6, 1970, son of David G. (Jerry) Bishop, Sr. and Connie Bishop.
David graduated from Manatee High School in 1988 where he lettered in track as the anchor for the mile relay team, setting a record that remained unbroken for 25 years. David continued his education at the State College of Florida (formerly Manatee Community College) and then went on to Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) graduating in 1994 earning a master’s degree in architecture. He met the love of his life, Robin Fisk, at college and they married in 1994. They returned to Bradenton and raised two children, Connor and Mackenzie.
David lost his beloved wife Robin to cancer in June of 2021. He is survived by his parents, David G. (Jerry) Bishop, Sr. and Connie Bishop, brother, Aaron (Nicki) Bishop and children, Connor (Viana) Bishop, and Mackenzie Bishop, mother-in-law, Vicki Fisk (John, d.2020), sister-in-law, Katie Fisk, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, friends and colleagues.
David was the owner of Bishop-PM Solutions, LLC, specializing in project representation services, overseeing design and construction projects. He was a LEED Accredited Professional working for a healthier, environmentally friendly community.
He was an active pillar in Manatee County. He dedicated his life to serving the community with steadfast commitment and leadership. He was an elected West Manatee Fire Commissioner for several terms. He was a member of the Bradenton Kiwanis Club (past President and Board member) and a member of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. He will be severely missed by family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him, met him, worked with him, or crossed his path.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Manatee Performing Arts Center at 502 3rd Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34205 on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
