Dave Silva

Dave Silva was born February 3rd 1959 in Cooks County, Illinois.

As a child he moved to Palmetto, Florida with his parents and three brothers Moe, Victor and Ernie. Dave attended Palmetto High School and settled in Bradenton. In 1980 Dave was hired at Tropicana.

Shortly after, Dave had two children Kristina and David.

Dave’s exuberance was bigger than life. His laugh was infectious. Anywhere you went in town he was well known and loved.

Dave loved everything life had to offer; his family, neighbors, friends, cars, sports, dancing, pool and singing loud to classic rock. He especially loved his father Mosies Silva who he cared for with great kindness. He worked 40 years at Tropicana along side some of his very best friends.

Dave died suddenly December 27th, 2020 due to COVID 19, just a few months before his retirement. His death was a shock to us all. His absence left a hole in the lives of many.

He is survived by his father Moises, daughter Kristina, son David and his grandchildren Caden and Isaac. His life is a reminder to enjoy every day we are given.

An outdoor memorial service will be held at Skyway Memorial Gardens on Saturday January 16th at 2 pm. Guests are requested to respectfully wear masks.
