Cheryl Fabiola Cobb-Tullos, also known as Cheryl Tullos, passed away on September 26, 2023, at the age of 67 in Bradenton, Florida. She was born on September 17, 1956, in Providence, Rhode Island.


Cheryl was so many things. She was loving, generous, caring, fun, sincere, loyal, professional, smart, friendly, joyful, religious, intelligent, law-abiding, special, and honest.

Cheryl had a successful career as a Registered Nurse, practicing in Florida for 40 years and simultaneously in Georgia for 3 years. Her expertise covered critical care nursing as well as geriatric nursing in various settings, including skilled nursing centers, assisted living facilities, dementia care, and home health. Cheryl held management and consulting roles in skilled nursing centers, serving as a Director of Nursing (DON) for facilities of different sizes. She was a Certified DON in Long Term Care and a Certified Gerontological Nurse.


Throughout her career, Cheryl made significant contributions to the healthcare industry. From January 2014 to April 2019, she served as the Vice President of Clinical Services, Risk Management, and Corporate Compliance at Palm Healthcare Management, LLC in Sarasota, FL. In this role, Cheryl ensured the quality of care and quality of life for residents through system development, education, monitoring, and policy implementation. She was responsible for care outcomes, risk management, litigation follow- up, and resident life enrichment programming.


Prior to her role at Palm Healthcare Management, Cheryl held various leadership positions at SHP Healthcare in Tampa, Florida, from May 2004 to December 2013. She served as the Vice President of Clinical Services, Vice President of Healthcare Operations, and Company Risk Manager. Cheryl played a crucial role in budgeting, census growth, and ensuring excellent customer service and outcomes. She also implemented several clinical programs to enhance resident safety and well-being.

From June 2001 to May 2004, Cheryl worked as the Vice President of Clinical Services, Interim Director of Nursing, and Risk Manager at Johnson-Ezell Healthcare Management, Inc. in Clearwater, Florida. She oversaw clinical operations for skilled facilities, assisted living facilities, dementia care, and home health on all campuses. Cheryl developed and implemented various processes and programs to improve resident care, including electronic charting systems, resident safety committees, and clinical benchmark goals.


Cheryl's dedication to quality care extended to her role as a Clinical Group Manager, Lead Consultant, and Interim Director of Nursing at Beverly Healthcare in Sarasota, Florida, from November 1996 to June 2001. She was responsible for overseeing clinical operations in multiple facilities and training staff on electronic charting systems, risk management, and resident safety processes.

Before her tenure at Beverly Healthcare, Cheryl served as the Director of Nurses and Nurse Consultant at Hillhaven Corporation/Vencor in Sarasota, Florida, from 1993 to 1996. She successfully managed the nursing department at East Manor, a 169-bed skilled facility, and later became responsible for overseeing quality of care and adherence to regulations in 14 skilled facilities.


Cheryl began her long-term care career at Hillhaven Corporation in Sarasota, Florida, from 1980 to 1990.

She held various positions, including charge nurse, Assistant Director of Nurses, Director of Nurses, and Nurse Consultant. Cheryl's dedication and leadership skills were instrumental in improving quality of care, resident satisfaction, and survey compliance.

Cheryl worked in the critical burn unit of Sarasota Memorial Hospital before dedication of her entire career to take care of the elderly and special need patients of nursing homes.


In addition to her professional achievements, Cheryl was actively involved in her community and had a strong faith. She worshipped at Incarnation Catholic Church and New Wine Worship Center. Cheryl enjoyed hobbies such as prayer, caring for others in need, traveling and cruises, as well as playing casino slots and blackjack.

Her favorite thing in the world was to communicate with, love, and be with her Son, Husband, Family and Friends. Cheryl also loved to spoil her pets.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 9, 2023, at New Wine Worship Center located at 4090 Tallevast Road, Sarasota, Florida 34243. Flowers can be sent to New Wine Worship Center or In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to New Wine Worship Center.

Cheryl Tullos will be deeply missed by her loved ones, including her husband, Cosper "Buddy" Tullos, her son Wesley "Wes" Haas, daughter-in-law Jenni Moylan, brother John Cobb, sister Barbara Bergmann, brother-in-law Judge Charles Bergmann, nieces Jessica, Nichole, Kristy, Heather, and the rest of her family and friends.
