Charles Wesley Rumer III “Chuck”
On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Chuck Rumer, loving father of two daughters, passed away at the age of 62.
Chuck was born on June 22, 1959 in Abington, PA to Charles Jr and Helene (Sherwood) Rumer. He was raised in Warrington, PA and graduated from Central Bucks West high school in 1977, where he was a member of the golf team. While a junior in high school, he enlisted early in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and completed his basic training the summer of 1976 in Cape May, NJ.
Chuck moved to Ormond Beach, FL in 1983 and went to work for Homac Mfg Company. The majority of his 34 years with Homac, Chuck worked in Quality Assurance Management. He studied Business Administration/Management at DBCC, now Daytona State College.
Chuck moved to Florida’s gulf coast in 2018 to be closer to his daughters Ashley and Amber, settling in Sarasota FL. He worked as a Senior Quality Associate at Hoveround since 2020.
Chuck enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Lightning. He enjoyed playing golf, trips back to Pennsylvania, blues music and his chihuahuas Snoop and Lu. Chuck was very passionate about the blues, having attended concerts and festivals all around the country. He loved his family dearly and was a meticulous gift giver.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father Charles Jr, and his mother Helene. He is survived by his two daughters, Ashley and Amber, his sister Carol (David), brothers Mike (Kim) and Steve, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family plans a Celebration of Life, to be announced at a later date.
