C. Mason Lanford, 70, Bradenton, passed away November 3, 2016.
Mason was born February 16, 1946 in Kegley, West Virginia to the late Charles and Nora (Karnes) Lanford. He moved to Bradenton in 1965 coming from West Virginia.
Mason served with the United States Coast Guard, was the owner and operator of Mason Mechanics for many years, and was a member of the Life Covenant Sanctuary Church in Bradenton. Mason was an avid muscle car collector and fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, and was a water sport enthusiast. He was also a former member of the 100 Club of Manatee.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Alice in 2015, and is survived by his son, Kelly (Mindi) Lanford of Bradenton, daughter, Kimberly (Patrick) McMurray of Powder Springs, GA, brother, Roger Lanford of New York, sister, Betty (Harold) Lollis of Williamston, SC, four grandchildren; Mandi McMurray, Brittany McMurray, Allison Lanford, Sean McMurray, two great-grandchildren; Rylan and Westyn McMurray, and many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Mason’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton.
The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 12502 N. Pine Drive, Tampa, FL, 33612 in his memory.
