Beverly A. Ruta passed away peacefully on March 27, 2023 at the age of 88. A mother, grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, Bev accumulated good friends and kept them close throughout her life. She was grounded and pragmatic, but also the life of the party and the first one to offer help or support where it was needed.
Married to her husband Russ for 54 years, she spent the first part of her life in Rochester, NY, a central character in their combined extended families. She raised two girls and worked as a volunteer in the school system and later in the sales division of Kodak. She and Russ retired to Florida and quickly added new friends at Timber Pines in Spring Hill. Later, she moved to Freedom Village in Bradenton, where she enjoyed another close-knit group of friends and many activities. There, she was a caregiver for many and an expert bridge player.
She is survived by her daughters Catherine Cullen (Ed Cullen) and Gwen Ruta, grandsons Tom Cullen (Katy Brodhead) and Kevin Cullen (Zoe Schroeder) and great-granddaughter Maggie Cullen. She will be missed.
