Betty-Jo Marney, 85, Bradenton, passed away October 17, 2016 at her residence.

Betty-Jo was born on September 28, 1931 in Oak Bluff, Massachusetts to the late Joel Edison and Elizabeth (Hutchinson) Childers.

She attended the Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable, Massachusetts and worked for several years with the Telephone Company. Betty-Jo also served as the Sports writer for a local Barnstable paper in her early years, and was a member of the Osterville United Methodist Church where she sang in the Choir.

Betty-Jo moved to Florida over 10 years ago and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church which is now Harvest United Methodist Church in Bradenton where she continued her active Choir singing. She was also an avid Bridge player and loved to read. Betty Jo was also an avid Boston and Kentucky sports fan.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Burgoyne and a sister Catherine Breault. Survived by her two sons; Dana O. Marney of Waterville, ME, Steven Marney of Stuart, FL, two daughters; Janice LeBlanc and her husband Gordon of Osterville, Maine, Littleton, New Hampshire and Stuart, Florida, Barbara Hufnagel and her husband Mark of Stuart, Florida, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many extended family members and dear friends on Cape Cod (Edna Dutra), Florida and Maine.

Services will be held in July of 2017 in Maine for Betty-Jo.
