Barbara A. Kern

Barbara A. Kern, 71 of Ellenton, passed away on December 30, 2015 at the Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton.

Barbara was born on October 28, 1944 in New York City, New York to the late Thomas Eugene and Barbara (Hogan) Magill. She worked for many years as a production line worker in the healthcare manufacturing industry. And has been a resident of Manatee County for the last 11 years moving here from Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert J. Kern of Ellenton, Florida, two daughters; Kathleen Halsey of Ellenton, Florida, Shannon Poindexter of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, two sons; Richard and Robert, Jr. both of El Paso, Texas, several brothers and sisters in Staten Island, New York area, seven grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to TideWell Hospice in Barbara’s memory.
