BARBARA A. GRANT (HODGES)

Barbara, age 80, left for her eternal home on September 4, 2018 in Bradenton, FL. She was the widow of Robert W. “Bill” Grant, Jr. with whom she shared 38 years of marriage until his death in 1996.

Born October 7, 1937 in Savannah, GA, Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Commercial High School. She and Bill were married in 1958, after which they moved to Bradenton, FL. Also a resident of Orlando, FL, she was in real estate for over 40 years and an active member of many civic organizations, including Junior League Sorosis and FL Federation of Women’s Club.

She loved FSU football, her country and an avid supporter of Veterans. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, nothing meant more to her than her family and her faith. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Bradenton, FL.

Barbara is pre-deceased by husband Robert W. “Bill” Grant, Jr., parents Rufus and Lola Hodges and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by daughter Kimberly Grant of Bradenton; son Christopher Grant (Carolyn) of Orlando; brother Richard Hodges (Helen) of Bradenton; granddaughter Heather MacMunn (Tim); grandson Steven Grant; great grandson Landon; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 at First Church of the Nazarene (1616 59th ST W, Bradenton, FL 34209). Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Fogartyville Cemetery, Bradenton at 2:30 p.m.

The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Barbara’s name to Children’s Home Society of Florida (www.chsfl.org), 482 S. Keller Road, Orlando, FL 32810.
