It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, affectionately known as "GG".
Audrey has reunited in heaven with her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 66 years, Rowe Alan Meade; her daughter, Ellen Rowena Meade; her mother, Hope Felt Shaver Dickey; her father, Claude Shaver and her sister, Faye Dickey McGaughey.
Audrey was born in Bradenton General Hospital 01/03/1927. She graduated from Bradenton High School in 1944. After her husband returned from active duty with the U.S. Merchant Marines, they worked at the Myakka State Park. He was a Park Ranger and she worked in the gift shop and made Myakka Park Bird souvenirs, 1947. She was Co-Founder of Meade House Moving with her husband for 55 years.
She was monumental with her daughters "Dancing Dolls", "Ellen Meade Studios" and "Ellen Meade Performing Arts Preschool". Audrey was an excellent seamstress. She sewed countless dance costumes and crocheted Ballerina Bun covers in the early studio days. Miss Audrey always had a warm smile to greet you and was loved by all. Audrey also was a "Daughter of the American Revolution" (DAR) through her father's genealogy.
Audrey loved canoeing, camping and the great outdoors.
Survived by her son, Bruce Meade, daughter-in-law, Ellen. granddaughter, Bryce Meade Wilhelm. grandson, Blake Meade. great-grandsons, Cale, Gunner and Kai. great-granddaughter, Grace.
Services will be private.
