Ann Henriett Stobaugh

Ann Henriett (Armbruster) Stobaugh, 76, Bradenton, passed away at 4 pm on Jan. 19, 2015.

Ann was born on Sept. 7, 1938 in Bonne Terre, MO to the late James and Clara (Wirag) Armbruster. Ann was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bismark, MO on the 19th day of March 1939. Ann lived in Flat River, MO until she went off to college at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She arrived in Bradenton in 1961, moving to Florida from Oklahoma City, OK.

Ann was a past member of the Manatee Medical Society Women’s Auxiliary, Board member of the Westcoast Symphony, and Manatee Players, where she participated in productions such as the Sound of Music and My Fair Lady. She and Dr. Stobaugh were members of the Bradenton Yacht Club since the early 60’s, attended Hope Lutheran and Redeemer Lutheran Churches in Bradenton and most recently St. Armand’s Key Lutheran Church in Sarasota. Ann was passionate about her family and friends, tennis, pottery, traveling, the arts and all the outdoor water activities that Florida has to offer.

Ann was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Schlueter, and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Dr. Robert E. Stobaugh, of Bradenton; three sons: Robert Edward (Christine Shirley) Stobaugh III of Bradenton, Richard Earl Stobaugh of Ft. Myers, Russell Evan (Lisa Hudson) Stobaugh of Bradenton; one daughter: Robbin Elizabeth (Joseph J.) Slama of Ft. Lauderdale; and ten grandchildren.

A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at Hope Lutheran Church, 4635 26th Street West, Bradenton. Following the service the family will receive friends until 4 P.M. A private family graveside service will take place at Fogartyville Cemetery in Bradenton.

The Stobaugh family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society of Manatee County or Southeastern Guide Dogs in her memory.

She will be hugely missed, our worlds were better because she helped to shape it…We look forward to the day when we reunited in Heaven 
