THERESA CHRISTINE GRISWOLD
NOVEMBER 13, 1970 – MAY 16, 2021
Theresa Christine Griswold, 50, of Parrish, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2021 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Parrish, Florida. Her family and many friends are deeply shocked and saddened at her untimely passing.
Theresa was born November 13, 1970 in Norwalk, California to Nancy and William. The younger of two girls, she often tagged along with her older sister. A lively, outgoing girl, Theresa made lifelong friendships with many of her classmates at Cook Elementary School in Chula Vista, CA, Monte Vista High School in San Diego, CA, and Milton High School, Milton, MA.
Theresa began her career in Southern California in real estate escrow and worked for many years as a knowledgeable Escrow Officer and notary in Orange County and Los Angeles, CA and most recently, enjoyed working from her Florida home for OS National, based out of Duluth, GA.
Theresa was best known for her warm smile, quick wit, infectious laughter and incredible ability to entertain with jokes and stories. She had a gift for making everyone who knew her feel as if they were her best friend, loved and forever treasured. She made lasting friendships wherever she went. Theresa will always be remembered for her talent for cooking and baking, seeking a new recipe or a way to perfect the ones she had tried. Her friends and family will miss her spontaneous gifts of home baked bread and cinnamon rolls. During the worst part of the pandemic, when bread was hard to find in California stores, she baked for friends and family and drove many miles to deliver her delicious treats. Theresa loved animals and adored her precious fur babies. She was an avid New England Patriots fan with a special fondness for Tom Brady.
Theresa met her husband Glen less than five years ago, a perfect match. They celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary May 12, so much in love and looking forward to a bright future.
Glen, Theresa and her son, John moved together from California to Florida November, 2020. It was an adventure. Starting out fresh, building a new home, finding new jobs for all three was a daunting task. But nothing could stop these “three musketeers.” They successfully transitioned and quickly grew to love their new surroundings. They loved to explore their new state, kayak, visit new places, and decorate their home. They were so very happy.
Theresa is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Glen Griswold, son John Fitzgerald, daughters Erin Fitzgerald and Kristen Sartor, stepson Carson Griswold and step-daughter, Amber Lawenda. Her mother, Nancy Vaughan, step-father, Richard Vaughan, father William Hernandez, step-mother Patricia Hernandez, sister, Alicia Hernandez and grandmother, Grace Downs deeply grieve her untimely loss. She was pre-deceased by her much-loved older sister Denise. Theresa leaves three beautiful grandchildren, Madison Jackson, Eleanor and Olivia Sartor. She will be truly missed by her Uncle “Unkie” Steven and Aunt Susan Downs, cousins Lindsay Shields and Jason Downs and Lindsay’s three children, Ayla, Dakota and Riley. Many extended family members and countless friends mourn her passing.
Theresa held a deep, abiding faith in God and that all believers would be together with Him in heaven. She left an indelible mark on this world, one that that will always be felt by those who loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held June 27, 2021, Tradewinds Island Grand Resort, 5500 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach Florida. If you plan to attend, please contact navatwv@aol.com for additional information.
