Robert Francis Stockhausen, 90, died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at home in Westminster Towers.
He leaves his loving wife of 33 years, Jane (Moore) Stockhausen; two sons, Robert and his wife Mary of Cleveland, William and his wife Julie of Denver; two step-sons, Richard Young of Boston and John Young of Cleveland; a step-daughter, Laura and her husband Stuart Lawrence of Sarasota; a sister, Joanne Thiel of Westlake, Ohio; eight grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
Born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Zahner) Stockhausen, he was a resident of Bradenton since 1983.
He served his country faithfully during WWII as an aviator for the U.S. Navy. Mr. Stockhausen was also a successful life insurance agent with New York Life. He and his wife traveled extensively.
Mr. Stockhausen was active at the First Presbyterian Church. Throughout his life he was of service to charitable, civic and church organizations.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton.
Further services and interment will take place in Lexington, VA at a later date.
