Margaret "Larue" Arendell

Margaret "LaRue" Arendell, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 22, 2024, surrounded by her family in Bradenton, Florida.

Born April 5th, 1940 in Altoona, PA. Daughter of Richard and Margaret (Shoening) Grassmyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley Diggens, brother Donald R. Grassmyer Sr., husband David B. McQuillen, son Scott A. McQuillen, grand daughter Natalie R. McPherson, and great-grandson Jaylen P. Lenning.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years James R. Arendell of Bradenton, FL., son David J. McPherson, daughter Sharon L. (Charles) Nagle, daughter Ruthann (Harry) McGraw, granddaughters Dawn C. (David) Matzen, Tonya Gomez, and Andrea McPherson. Margaret is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandsons.

Margaret, who went by her middle name LaRue, was raised in Johnstown, PA. She raised her family in Vinco, Pennsylvania and attended Vinco Brethren Church.

She and her late husband moved to Bradenton, FL in 1987 where she had a 20 year career as a leasing agent with local apartments complexes. After retirement age, Margaret continued working as an activities aide for an assisted living home.

She enjoyed writing stories, reading and studying the Bible, crocheting, and being with her family.
