Barbara Gullett Anderson, 90, of Bradenton, passed away July 8, 2015.
Mrs. Anderson a local native and member of a Manatee County Pioneer family was born on July 3, 1925 to Mr. Benjamin David & Carolyn Barbee (Best) Gullett, Jr. She was the oldest grandchild of Mr. B.D. Gullett who was a County School Superintendent in the 1920’s and 30’s.
She was raised and reared in Manatee County graduating in 1943 from the Manatee County High School.
Mrs. Anderson left Manatee County in 1945 and returned to Florida in 1969 and then in 1976 returned to Manatee County coming from Orlando, FL. She worked for several years in the Medical Records Department of Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the Original 13 for three years, and the 43rd Street Church of Christ in Bradenton.
Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by her beloved husband George in 1965, parents, two sons; Wayne Reynolds Anderson & Stephen Bishop Anderson, and two aunts; Sarah Gullett Bradley & Alice Best Perez. She is survived by two sons; Gregory George (Dr. Donna Johnson) Anderson of Charleston, SC, Michael Wagner (Diane) Anderson of Winter Park, FL, daughter-in-law, Irene Anderson of Greensboro, NC and five grandchildren; Jesse Wayne, Michael Gregory, Ali Irene & Michaela Anderson, Victoria Bagnell all of Orlando, FL.
Private family services will be held at Palm View Cemetery in Palmetto, FL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 1661 Woodland Ave., Winter Park, Fl. 32789 in Mrs. Barbara G. Anderson’s memory.
